Checking Your Vitamin D Levels

A few days ago I posted a video about preventing Seasonal Affective Disorder, and one of the tips was to increase Vitamin D levels. Many people ask how to get their levels tested, and how much should they take.
You can request a Vitamin D test through your primary care doctor or do an at home test through GrassrootsHealth www.grassrootshealth.net (I've done this test and it is easy to do, a simple finger poke and you mail the kit back to them). I recommend Vitamin D levels to be between 50 - 90 ng/ml. Check with your primary care doctor, but this calculator can be helpful in determining dosage of Vitamin D supplements to get your levels high enough for optimal health.
